The single for Blak Laz’s Tha Madman Memoirs is here!!! For the past year Blak Laz, JQ Lamaj, and I have been working diligently to bring you quality music. The album is set to be released on September 11, 2011. I must say, it truly has been an experience. This is the first project that I am producing and I’ve learned a lot of things along the way that will definitely help me in the future. I feel like my knowledge and experience as a producer is growing rapidly. I’m definitely not where I want to be as a producer, however, the journey getting there has been fun so far. One major thing that this project has taught me is to stop talking, and start doing. I know it sounds cliche, but it has never made that much sense to me like it does now. Nike’s slogan “Just Do It” makes so much sense! I’ve noticed a flaw most people have is that they do not have the courage to start/execute an idea because of the potential failure that is waiting, or not knowing what to do. Either that, or they’re just lazy. I engraved it in my head that failing is inevitable. It is going to happen! The Lakers lose a few games in the season and post-season, but they come out victorious at the end. I’m mad this past NBA season they didn’t, but I digress. The point is, they are going to come in this season and TRY again. A person that talks about doing something, and doesn’t try, has already given up. When I started this project, I didn’t know where, or how far, it would go. I just knew that I wanted to produce an album and put out quality music. Since then, we’ve recored dozens of songs, had photoshoots, videoshoots, been in a legit studio to get the album mix and mastered, met a few well known people along the way, and more. All that stemmed from trying. So, stop talking all that jive and start doing!!! Adjust along the way, and learn on the fly!
