A few hours = $250,000

Timbaland is one of my favorite producers of all time!!! Watch how he explains how “Are You That Somebody” was made, and almost didn’t make it as a single.

Beats, Rhymes, and Life…

Contrary to popular belief, Car-mageddon was a blessing. The freeways were wide open, which made it a breeze to get from one side of town to another! On Saturday, I went to go see “Beats, Rhymes, and Life” at the Arclight in Hollywood. This was a documentary, by Michael Rapaport, about one of the most influential Hip Hop groups of all time. It was about Q-Tip, Ali Shaheed, Phife, and Jarobi, otherwise known as, A Tribe Called Quest. The documentary was very informative and well organized. Michael Rapaport did a great job of showing all aspects of the group. From how the group first met each other, to the formation of Quest, to the success and differences in the group. Everything was covered, and all members from ATCQ was able to share their point of view, which is what I really appreciated. Nothing about the documentary was dull, or one-sided. For everyone that appreciates music, I strongly recommend watching “Beats, Rhymes, and Life”. The Arclight slightly charges more than a regular theater, but the experience is pretty cool. When you buy your tickets from the electronic kiosk, you’re able to pick an assigned seat. They sell alcohol in the theater. Also, before the movie starts, an employee personally introduces the film, which adds to the intimate setting of the Arclight. Anyways, go see the documentary! I guarantee its worth the $13.50.
